“House in Disarray” links finally working

Sigh! That’s what I get for not extensively testing my posts. Aside from several other errors, I was using a capital “I” in the links (“In” vs. “in”), so the links weren’t functioning correctly.

However, that’s corrected now. Now I’ve got to correct the WP pages, since they’ve <b>stopped</i> automatically posting the page title at the top of each page, meaning <b>all</b> of my old pages will no longer display correctly! Sigh!

Smashwords 2017 Summer/Winter Sale

No sooner than I signed up with Smashwords (again) than they start their 2017 July Summer/Winter Sale.

Both of my books, currently available on the site, are now available for 75% off (Discount code “SSW75”)

Zombie Leza $4.99 Now $1.25 (from July 1 to July 31, 2017, using code “SSW75”)

The Demons Within $4.99 Now $1.25 (from July 1 to July 31, 2017, using code “SSW75”)

Back on Smashwords

After a long hiatus, I’m back on smashwords.com.

I’ve always had better sales, while receiving more money, on the site, and they offer readers more options. Unfortunately, when they terminated my earlier contract, they also deleted readers abilities to update their books.

If anyone has ever purchased my books on smashwords, drop me a note at vincentberg@vincentberg.com and I’ll send you a coupon to switch over the a new version (once I start posting my older books).

For now, I’ve listed my two newest books on Smashwords: Zombie Leza and The Demons Within.

To help promote my new presence on the site (I’m now listed as Vincent Berg, instead of Crumbly Writer), I’m offering a 25% discount on Zombie Leza, valid until July 22, 2017. The discount code is “AN67J“.

I’m planning to release the following books soon:

Demonic Issues:

  1. The Demons Within $4.99
  2. Speaking With Your Demons $5.99

After that I’ll post The Cuckoo’s Progeny and Singularity, though I’ll post one at at time, giving smashwords members a chance to absorb them (and for me to relearn how to process the SW files). I’ll post each new book listed on SW here, along with any new discount codes for my loyal readers.

Minor changes

Aside

You probably haven’t noticed, but I started playing around with a few things; specifically “targeted links”, listing the books that readers who purchased my books also liked, so anyone interested could also check those out.

If anyone finds such links objectionable let me know, but I’m operating under the assumption that you’re under no obligation to click on a link you’re uninterested in, but I’m trying to find information which might benefit you.

As usual, it’s a work in progress, as it takes time to find the specific links (i.e. which books are the most linked to my own book purchases, to avoid the ‘casual’ association to avoid the books readers are unlikely to be interested in.

If the process falls flat, I’ll yank them, as it doesn’t really impact me much, but they seem like valuable recommendations, rather than merely pointless filler.

Cuckoo’s Progeny completes posting

One more story down. It got a great reception. However, it didn’t get many reviews, so no one else knows what a great story it is.

If anyone liked the story (or even if they didn’t, as critical reviews help drive sales too), I’d appreciate it if you could post a review wherever you bought it (either Amazon, lulu or CreateSpace). You can also post reviews for any book you read on goodreads.com (of if you’ve ever spent money on Amazon, you can review products even if you haven’t bought them).

Read and post reviews of “The Cuckoos Progeny” on goodreads.com

Due to some recent health issues (involving some unfortunate drug interactions), I haven’t been very productive of late, so my next book, “Zombie Leza” (currently available) won’t post here for another two months to give me time to recover and finish off the next book, “The Demons Within”.

I’m also putting aside my other projects to complete the Not-Quite Human sequel, “Lost With Nothing to Lose”.

Finally, testing out a new pricing strategy, I’m dropping the price on the print version of Cuckoo’s Progeny to $9.99 (it was previously $14.99).

“Zombie Leza” Book Giveaway

Another book giveaway via goodreads. This time, for my newest book, “Zombie Leza”.

Zombie Leza

Leza’s an unusual young woman, living with, protecting and caring for Zombies. In an apocalyptic wasteland where the living are few, she represents a unique hybrid, a living zombie. She speaks with the undead and can teach the living how to survive. If the humans can only keep from killing her, that is.

Discovered during a final confrontation between a survivor refuge and an oncoming horde of the undead, Leza saves the day. She represents more than just another day of survival, but whether that spells humanity’s rescue or the future of the undead is anyone’s guess. She may be humanity’s redemption or their ultimate annihilation.

The contest runs between Nov. 11 until the 19th, and is giving away five copies of the book (pending site approval, which hasn’t occurred yet).

New Story: The Cuckoo’s Progeny

A new story, “The Cuckoo’s Progeny”, starts Nov. 1st, 2016.

Not-Quite Human 1

The Cuckoo’s Progeny

Al and Betty aren’t like their classmates. They’ve developed particular skills which set them apart, and which sets them in a search for mysteries which eventually leads them in a search for their origins, and the long interstellar trip home.

Searching out others like them, they build a crew to search for a ship which will hopefully take them to a home they’ve never known, to a reception they aren’t sure will be welcoming.

I’m also publishing a new book, “The Zombie Leza”, on Nov. 7th, 2016.

“Singularity” finished posting

Singularity has finally finished posting. The once-a-week posting was annoying, but it gave me time to prepare my next story for release.

I’ll wait another month to work on future projects and finish up my next book, “Zombie Leza”, and then I’ll begin posting The Cuckoo’s Progeny, the first book in my “Not-Quite Human” trilogy.
